Original 1935 Nazi K98 Rifle Bayonet with Leather Frog

This very fine set consists of an early production bayonet marked "S.178G" by Heller with a G date code for 1935. The outstanding blade has an almost commercial smooth blued finish with no edge dings. The grip panels are wood and rate fine with a few surface dents. The bayonet serial number doesn't match the scabbard, but both bayonet and scabbard are maker-coded "S.178G". The undented steel scabbard shows typical wear to the blued finish with surface freckling. The original throat screw is present. The black leather frog is supple and rates fine. The frog is maker-marked and dated 1939. Item #0109-2
